Man City Released, Clichy Kian Close Join the Turkish Club
France defender Gael Clichy is finishing a move to join Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir.
The 31-year-old is expected to undergo a medical test before signing a new contract on Friday (7/7/2017).
Clichy does not get a new contract extension at Manchester City at the end of the 2016-2017 season. He is not included in coach Pep Guardiola’s plan to start a squad overhaul ahead of his second season at Man City.
Istanbul Basaksehir Party announced a move to recruit Clichy on the club’s official Twitter account.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, a Turkish report said that the former Arsenal player would sign a three-year contract for a fee of 3 million euros per season.
Clichy spent six seasons at Manchester City. Together with Man City, he has won the Premier League title twice.
